Often in the MLB, teams are judged on how many games above or below .500 they are at the end of the season.
If you are a Chicago White Sox fan, then you are probably aware of how the 2024 season is going for them.
After winning the division just a few years ago in 2021 and coming in 2nd in 2022, the White Sox have taken a turn for the worse this year.
According to Senior Writer Jayson Stark of The Athletic, the 2024 season for the White Sox has been ‘Mind-Blowing’
As a longtime chronicler of everything Weird and Wild, @jaysonst has seen a lot of stuff.
But he's never seen a MLB team fall 81 games below .500. And neither have you, unless you’re a spritely 108 years old.
These White Sox are mind-blowing.

To say this 2024 White Sox team is bad would be an understatement.
The White Sox currently hold a record of only 33 wins and a whopping 114 losses, which lands them 81 games below the .500 mark.
It was only 4 years ago in 2021 that the White Sox made the playoffs, and from there they just got progressively worse.
They had a record of 81 wins and 81 losses in 2022, 61 wins and 101 losses in 2023, and then there is this year’s record.
Trying to understand how a professional baseball team can fall off so abruptly is a mystery to many, but on the bright side, it can’t get much worse.
The problem with this year’s team could fall anywhere from upper management to simple team construction and player ability.
Somebody in the White Sox organization will have the job of identifying the issue and coming up with a solution.
The White Sox will look to get through this abysmal 2024 season and re-access their situation to try and build a competitive baseball team coming into the 2025 season.
