
As the 2024 MLB season winds down, teams and their fans are preparing for the postseason in hopes of winning a World Series title.
By now, the best teams have been identified and are trying to remain as healthy as possible heading into the playoffs.
With some teams fighting for playoff spots, and other teams just trying to end the season in peak form, the power rankings give fans an idea of the best teams in baseball.
According to FOX Sports: MLB, Ben Verlander shared his latest MLB power rankings list.

The Philadelphia Phillies claimed the number 1 spot on the list overtaking the previous number 1 team the Los Angeles Dodgers.
With a record of 90 wins and 59 losses, the Phillies were the first team this season to reach 90 wins.
The All-Star filled lineup includes big names such as Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Trea Turner, and they will look to reach their first World Series since 2022.
Also in the National League, the Dodgers fall to number 2 in the rankings with a record of 88 wins and 61 losses.
The Dodgers will look to their stars Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts to lead them to their first World Series since 2020 when they claimed the title.
In the third position comes the first American League team in the New York Yankees who will look to Aaron Judge and Juan Soto to try and reach their first World Series since 2009.
Anything can happen come playoff time in the MLB, but the power rankings list gives fans an idea of who is expected to perform well and make a run for a title.
